Transfer to Truman

AMAZING ACADEMICS, ATMOSPHERE, AND VALUE, combined with personal attention to your special needs as a transfer student, may make Truman the answer to your question of where to continue your education. Truman’s small size, approximately 5,700 students, allows you to interact closely with fellow students, instructors, and staff. Small classes and top-notch faculty support students in an environment conducive to serious study.  You will be introduced to learning communities, challenging courses, and unique research experiences, working alongside your professors and peers. You may want to participate in one of Truman's study abroad programs or intramurals. You may want to join a dance team or the marching band. Whatever your interests, at Truman, you will find a place where you belong. You will also have opportunities to enjoy cultural events like theater, dance, art, music and noted speakers. You will discover, analyze, and share new ideas and differing viewpoints. In addition, at Truman, you will have opportunities to explore the community and become involved outside of campus. At Truman, learning is a part of whatever you choose to do, from making new friends to the classroom experience.  

EARLY PLANNING - The Registrar and Transfer Coordinator at Truman are happy to work with you in planning your transfer (you cannot begin planning your transfer too early!). Even if you are in your first semester at a community college and do not plan on transferring for two to three semesters, the staff at Truman will assist you in planning future semesters to ensure smooth transfer of credit. 

VISIT CAMPUS - If you would like to get a closer look at Truman, you can schedule an appointment to visit campus on weekends between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Admission Office is also open for visitors on selected Saturdays throughout the academic year. For more information on visiting campus, check out Truman's Online Visit Center.

 

FAQ’s

What are the admission requirements for transfer students?
Truman welcomes applications from students who have earned college credit from other accredited institutions. Admission is based upon combined criteria: high school rank/grade point average, ACT/SAT, cumulative grade point average for previous college credit, and strength of high school and college curricula.

Who determines what credits will transfer?
Truman’s Registrar is responsible for making all final determinations on transfer credits. MORE>
