What experiences have helped to support your role as a Truman faculty member
I started out teaching preschool for 8 years, that has helped prepare me for teaching Child Development (gave me lots of timeless anecdotal examples)

How do you involve undergraduate students in your research?
While I have students working in my lab coding videotapes of families, I prefer to mentor students in their own independent research projects.

What do you like best about teaching at Truman?
The interactions with the students, the are a lively group with a wide variety of interests.

What has been your greatest accomplishment or success while teaching at Truman?
Hearing from students in graduate school who say they know more than their peers due to the education they received at Truman!

What do you find unique about Truman students?
High ability but not overly competitive. They seem to make the most of their time here and enjoy their education.

What do students seem to like most about your classes?
My classes have a comfortable atmosphere with topics that relate to their past current, or future lives. And my dog.

What do you like best about living in Kirksville?
The small town atmosphere. People know me and greet me by name all over town. The waitstaff at all the restaurants where I go have my favorite foods memorized. I feel very safe living here.
