Tony Dwiggins
What attracted you to Truman?I was attracted to Truman by its reputation of high quality education. I knew Truman’s education would prepare me for life after college in and out the work place and that its reputation would stick with me and my degree as I began looking for a job after school.
What do you like best about Truman?I like the size of the campus and the student population. Both are big enough to do some exploring, whether that may be going for a walk or meeting new people, yet not so large that one gets lost in that process.
What do you like most about your classes?I like the dedication of the Truman faculty who are willing to help each student achieve success in and outside of the classroom. This is made possible not only by the personalities of the Truman faculty, but also by the small class sizes at Truman.
What do you feel is unique about Truman?I feel that Truman is unique because between the school, the education provided, and the student population, one can get both the feeling of a big state university and a small college, a public and private education, and an urban and rural setting at the same place. No matter who you are or what you are looking for, you can find it at Truman.
Have you studied abroad, done an internship, or participated in undergraduate research?I have continued conducting research on a paper that I wrote in the fall and presented it at the Student Research Conference at Truman this past spring. My research centers on the Truman Doctrine, specifically how and why it was adopted. I am looking forward to continuing and expanding this project into a senior capstone thesis.
What are your plans after graduation?I would like to continue my education by seeking a Master’s Degree in Education and then teach high school history.
